Some South Koreans have a negative image of Muslims, but that mostly comes from what they see in the media the same way many Americans think Muslim women are oppressed. The truth is, women are mistreated everywhere in the world, even in places that call themselves modern or free. Islam, on the other hand, gives women their full rights even if some people don’t always follow those teachings. That’s not the fault of the religion itself. In Islam, treating women unfairly is a sin. And actually, many older Korean men who worked in Saudi Arabia in the past know that Muslims are kind and respectful people, because they’ve experienced it firsthand. It’s usually the younger generations, who only see negative news online, that have this wrong image.

i am muslim with hijab.. this is my 2nd year living in china. i thought i would get discrimination but it is the opposite. all chinese people are so kind even so helpful. also halal restaurant really everywhere. halal section in the mall or in canteen. while the racism i got from fellow international student.. hahaha. 😅

muslim discrimination is indeed another level, i remember a video in which a black muslim guy said that. he talked about his experience being welcomed as a black guy but the reaction change when they knew he is a muslim.
