We demo’d a 9RX 590 on the cart this year. And while it had over a 100hp more than our 2 track you couldn’t really feel that extra power in the field. Was struggling just as much with heavy loads as the 2 tracks. Turning on soft muddy ground however was a day and night difference. Not sure if it’s worth the extra money though

Problem is you need a quad track 5% of the time. A quad track is good 100% of the time.

Why do you think the 2 trackers haven’t been redesigned to become positive drive? Maybe 2 rows of center lugs, one that engages with each drive wheel?

They do have their drawbacks but I’d have a very hard time giving up my quad tracks

If you have a 500hp 2 track it will pretty much keep up to a 600 quadtrac

2 tracks on top. Quads also spin out

You forgot to mention a two track is lighter than a quad track, and depending on the configuration has a larger footprint on the ground

We have a Deere 2 track and it spins out when turning up hill, idk what you have for hills but do those yellow ones spin out?

I feel the same way. We have tires and quad track never 100%happy with either one. Seems there is never a fits all solution

2 track are sufficient when you have dry and flat ground. Once you have any moisture and or hills a quadtrac really shows why they are better. Heavier, won’t get pushed down a hill, more stable on a decline, and have a better pulling capacity on any range of conditions. Much more versatile in conditions and don’t have to worry about a friction drive

We run 4wd’s but were a bottom dollar operation. The two tracks I’ve always viewed as the next step up. Then a quad or delta-track be the top of line.

Power train losses arnt that bad on quadtracs, when our 530 spun its main bearings and the 620 sheared a gear, we needed to use our 2000 9370 quadtrac to Finnish seeding this year. It’s got like 360hp if I’m not mistaken but she pull our 70ft flex hoe 430 tank jaw dropping good. I didn’t think it would do it at 4 mph but dad proved me wrong

On the cart in the mud, I'd rather have tires TBH. Quads are great in wet conditions but it’s another undercarriage to keep clean. Wet tillage conditions, quad all day. Straight pull in good conditions, a c18 two track will make them both look silly.

Drivetrain loss and fuel difference isn’t as much as youd think, we’ve had both our 2 track and quad hooked to the same high speed disk, highest speed was within a half mph fuel was just about the same maybe the quad had a little better fuel efficiency but I’d chalk that up to engine efficiency

also a mild ridge in the ground tips the front end in the air until the center of gravity moves far enough forward and then SLAM

Not sure what you’re talking about tires tearing up the field. From everything I’ve seen 2 track tractors are by far the worst for tearing up fields. Two track tractors are rare around me most everybody has moved to big duels or quad tracks
