@somewheresomehowalex: The Hummingbird Bobtail Squid (Euprymna berryi) is a tiny, round-bodied cephalopod often found buried in sandy bottoms at night, glowing softly thanks to bioluminescent bacteria living in its light organ. About the size of a grape, it gets its name from its quick, darting movements that resemble a hovering hummingbird. With iridescent blues, purples, and greens shimmering across its mantle, this squid uses both color-changing chromatophores and light-producing organs to camouflage perfectly against moonlit sand — a master of stealth and sparkle in the Lembeh Strait✨

Ocean is so unfair. How are you going to keep the most beautiful creatures where I can’t see them. It’s for the better though, humanity would destroy them otherwise 😔
