@tedtoks: It’s going to take a lot of work and a lot of money to fix the damage done to the planet, which is why Nobel Prize-winning economist Esther Duflo says it’s time to think seriously about getting billionaires around the world to pay their fair share. In her TED Talk, she shares her data-driven approach to taxation, which could help fight the climate crisis. She identifies how the actions of wealthy nations over the decades will disproportionately affect the poorest countries by the end of this century — and how this plan could help fix things. Tax the rich 20-30% and don’t tax the poor , then have universal healthcare and free community college . Break up monopolies and start taking care of people

If you take every penny from the 900 American billionaires and divide it equally among the 340 million total Americans each one of us would get $22,000. That’s not a lot of money so I believe everyone should stop talking about other people’s money.

We should start a slow increment increasing in 5% tax every ten years, on every billionaire. Growing until they become a millionaire again. They don’t lose their company obviously, but they can try again at becoming a billionaire, which I’m sure they’ll acheive, and start the cycle again. Hoarding such wealth is bad for the nation and economy; for you and I. Billionaires should not exist.

Small incremental increases in taxation across the very rich, could help with many of the disparities in our countries, and could also instill and create a more stable economy by offering middle and lower class workers more of an ability to "prosper". this could be from more money being put into the "country and systems" (infrastructure, education, healthcare. construction etc) and alleviate a lot of the stresses caused by everyday life and normal happenings. in all reality, it might not be aa much money, lost by the rich, as one might think.

If the government was efficient with spending money then ok tax the billionaires some more however the gov squanders money away. E.g. they spend 900k/year per homeless person in LA. They turned it into a backwards incentive to increase homelessness
