For coding it's reasonable to use Linux or if you are running on poor hardware, but the average person doesn't like dealing with the terminal cause well, it's a pain. If you are just trying to game or get things done, it is probably better to use Windows. Does have some bloatware, but it is a very ease of use operating system for those who don't want the annoying hassle of Linux
