1 Samuel 15 by definition is not Genocide. Genocide is too eliminate a groupe in large or in part based on their IDENTITY. Lex Talionis is the term used to summarize Like for Like, an eye for an eye. That's what happened here. Deut. 25:18 tells us when Amelek attacked they stuck the rear, those who lagged behind... who... the men, women, children, the elderly. This abuse repeated for 400 years until God said enough. This is not cruelty, this is justice.

Amalakites are descendants of giants through the line of horites via rephaim. Amalek, was the grandson of Esau (Isaac's son) through a concubine named Timna, who was a Horite Deutoronomy 2:11-12. They didn’t get completely destroyed because some segments were not destroyed as God asked His people. I’m sure that God knew they would be a thorn on their side even to this day. As the areas that are against Israel today are the areas God said to destroy, and they disobeyed. Such as Gaza and I think Iran. If you look up a map of the areas that didn’t get destroyed as prescribed by God and overlap it with today and the peoples that occupy those areas and be amazed. Keep also in mind that the rephaim are tainted hybrid offspring and not a direct creation of God
