Yeh my tenant won’t have to worry about me increasing rent because they pay on time EVERY SINGLE TIME. Good landlords are reasonable. We know the VALUE of a good tenant who RESPECTS our property.

Just because you fall behind or don’t pay on time doesn’t mean you’re a bad tenant life happens situation happens. People lose their jobs. They’re single mothers trying to hold down the fort by themselves so excuse me if someone is 3 or 4 months behind because they got fired and it’s even harder to get employment. This country is just so disgusting. And all you people care about is just money money money put yourself in someone else’s shoes for a second and a lot of people can’t walk in the shoes that a lot of struggling people walked in.

hey landlords! please remember that not all landlords are "good ones" like you. Just because you won't raise rent or kick out your good tenants doesn't mean all landlords will do the same. good tenants will be in jeopardy just the same as bad ones.

I pay my rent on time every month, I actually pay it 2 weeks early and my landlord increases my rent EVERY YEAR! They try to increase it above the allowed amount and now with this bill they’ll be able to.

Honest question: do people really think landlords have controlled expenses? Are property taxes, insurance premiums, maintenance costs, utilities, or mortgage rates capped by the government? Of course not. Landlords invest in rentals to earn a return — not to serve as Ontario’s social safety net.

People should get pissed off at the fact is that we pay over $2400 a month which is more than a mortgage, but yet we can't qualify for a mortgage, but yet we can qualify for a rent make that make sense people and landlords don't be greedy with us you end up with nothing at the end of the day

Basically in a nutshell from my understanding, Doug Ford is doing this because there are too many empty rental units. By having no leases or rent control this would allow landlords to rent to whoever they want and for how long.
