Pimple patches work because it’s hydrocool Band-Aid and it draws moisture out of the area and helps dry up the pimple. If the moisture isn’t high enough, such as on cystic acne, it’s just not going to work. It’s best for whiteheads ( and this is a controversial tip, but you’re also sometimes supposedly supposed to poke a tiny hole in the whitehead with a clean needle, I personally won’t risk the infection) or pimples that have already popped or you accidentally picked. It just draws out the moisture and gunk inside it, but it can’t do that if there isn’t a way for it to reach it. Some of the newer ones contain things like salicylic acid to treat and help bring the inside of the pimple to the surface, but then you might as well just get a spot treatment. Also, it’s literally cheaper to just buy hydrocool Band-Aids and cut them up. These are just super overpriced tiny pieces of hydrocolloid Band-Aids. I still buy them because they’re basically invisible or come in cute shapes and colors now, but when I had more severe acne problems, it was more cost-effective to just go to the pharmacy and buy a box of normal sized hydrocolloid bandages and cut them up

I use Ipsy to test new products because I love like makeup and skincare and they have a pimple patch set for sale on there that’s amazing. Number one it’s like 24 patches total for six dollars because Ipsy has popular brand stuff on sale … I mean big brands too… but whatever they are they’re amazing. I bought one. It worked, bought two more and I only really break out during my lady time of the month but I have it so I used two last night and they’re gone so I just ordered 3 more. They’re sealed as well so the acid and stuff in it will stay. Obviously they don’t cost six dollars value wise but Ipsy is underrated
