News flash. European service is just fine. In fact many people prefer it since there isn’t the upsale that American waiters push. You know cause they are trying to pad the bill and their tip. It’s getting old.

As a lifelong industry vet, I could not agree more. Move it to 20% commission and let it be a real sales job, or move it to hourly and let the service match the level of restaurant you’re eating at.

Even funnier when the market is flooded with a bunch of multitasking, memory logging, hard working babes. Then suddenly all those non-tippers are struggling to keep a job because they are being out worked by the waitress they thought they were better than.

when people are loud and proud about not tipping, I ask them how their last McDonald’s visit went. They look confused and I tell them that’s the service they’ll receive if we start getting hourly 😂

I bartend. If you don’t tip. I have customer service but we’re not doing the chit chat. I’ll be over talking to the people that are tipping. They can tell me about their day or their break up, etc.
