This is soooo true. You can’t walk away & leave it!! The yarn doesn’t automatically unroll from the skein.

Also, if you do wind a lot of cakes at one time, put a toilet paper role in the middle for storage so it doesn’t fall apart

I got my daughter the manual one last year for Christmas. Looking at maybe upgrading. She loves knitting and is building her yarn collection.

Thank you for sharing this reality. If you use yarn you should already know. I have noticed that beginners are unaware of the hurdles in the craft. It is a learned process.

on top of that, there are factory knots and sometimes theyre so tight you have to just cut the yarn 🙄

It’s the tension for me. The electric ones always wind sooo lose that they end up falling apart super easily. I’ll stick to the hand crank 🤪

I like my hand crank yarn winder. It’s very zen and I can easily stop to fix tangles.

I never leave mine unattended 😅 I still hold onto the tail to keep tension like I do with my manual just to make sure I can stop any jams from happening 😅

I heard someone say when you cake it, it stretches & ruins the yarn so you have to wind it twice. I wouldn’t think so but I don’t have a winder. What are your thoughts/experience with caking tension?

I love that you show this! And seeing the winder handle the 'small' tangles but stop on the larger tangle is nice! Definitely looking forward to getting 1

definitely going to get one now I was on the fence but 100% going to get one now that I've seen and mostly real time how it typically goes I'm confident I could manage

Engelbert Humperdinck was born as Arnold George Dorsey in Madras, India, to a British officer, and grew up amidst moving houses, discipline, and music. But it was in Leicester, England, where he began to craft what the whole world would later recognize with just three notes: that mix of elegance, strength, and tenderness that you don't learn in any school. When he sang, he didn't shout. He whispered, caressed every word, and let the feeling do the rest. That's why he earned the nickname The King of Romance, not for marketing, but because on every stage he seemed to be singing to a single person. His big breakthrough came in 1967 with Release Me, a song that took the top spot in England, beating the Beatles, with Strawberry Fields Forever. Not anyone can achieve that. From there came The Last Waltz, Am I That Easy to Forget, A Man Without Love, Spanish Eyes, and a long list of songs that have remained on the radios, at weddings, anniversaries, and in the memories of millions. Engelbert was not a trend. He was a singer by trade, the kind who stays on stage for three hours signing autographs, the kind who looks the public in the eye, the kind who understands that singing is also about companionship. With over 150 million records sold, with shows in Las Vegas, with tours that never stopped, he proved that romanticism never goes out of style when sung with truth. Today, at over 90 years old, he still steps onto the stage with the same elegance as always, impeccable suit, serene smile, and that voice that time treated with respect. Because Engelbert doesn't sing to impress. He sings to perform. And in these times of so much noise, that's worth its weight in gold. #EngelbertHumperdinck #bluespanisheyes #classicsong #viralvideo #musician
