On January 6, 2015, truck driver Kevin Kimmel stopped at a gas station in New Kent County, Virginia, during a routine trip. When officers stopped the RV, they found a 20-year-old woman who had been taken against her will and was being exploited. Because Kevin spoke up, she was safely rescued, and the people responsible were later convicted and sentenced to lengthy prison terms. Kevin recognized the warning signs because of training from the Truckers Against Trafficking, an organization that teaches truck drivers how to identify and report possible human trafficking. Kevin never imagined that one phone call could change someone's life.
