If you go to Renari construction (where you fight Canari) you can buy metal coats from one of the workers inside the building (idk if thats the metal coat your talking about)

Wanted Malimar and Drampa on my team but you can only get mega malimar POST GAME and than Drampa mega stone you can get from Quazartico Inc. early game but get Drampa right before the end of the game

Drampa havibg is mega stone at the start but being catchable so late in the game and them making a whole build up for Malamar mega evolution and making it also at the end of the game they are straight up evil

I’m pretty sure you also get a metal coat from a side mission, I had one and I didn’t even know about the shop in the construction site until yesterday, I can’t remember whenever that side quest appears but I think you can get it relatively soon
