Isn't "ye"/"thee" confusion between "y" and the thorn (þ)?

Sounds like the commenter heard the whole "Ye Olde Shoppe" signs in movies being a representation of the letter thorn instead of a "Y" and completely misunderstood what that meant for how "y" was pronounced. Among other things.

It’s almost as if an Epic Poem is a long dramatization of someone’s life story recited in poetic meter to keep people’s attention on the person, in this case a Scop or Skald, who is publicly reciting it😱🤯

This guy can’t seem to recognize that you must have several degrees in this field. Correct me if I’m wrong.

does the /f/ inbetween actually produce a /v/ that early? I know many people claim the same with old norse, but that similarity primarily happens in very late 1300s old norse. Prior to that its more of a [β] when non initial.

Single ‘f has a ‘v’ sound in Welsh which comes from the original Brythonic language

I don't think you said "ye" at any point in that video? þæt was an odd thing to say. 🤔

Same, we have to explain full context about the Bible to some people that just want to argue & not read it for themselves 🤭
