Salary caps/salary floors are an absolute necessity in any serious pro sports league to prevent situations like the A’s who refuse to spend money and make there fanbase pay for cheap ownership. Along with the art of a rebuild and not having a team with rich ownership ruling the league and causing loss of interest within the league.
