It’s genuinely so upsetting to see this video as an educator. With that insane ratio, it’s so incredibly hard to get anything done if you want make sure nothing goes wrong in the room. Plus you shouldn’t even do nappies without another educator around as there is no one to supervise the children. As you should know. Genuinely it makes me sad to think that some educators judge like this when they start their shift as the other person is trying their best to keep everything together without any help.

As an ex educator if they are alone with 12 kids in a babies or toddler ratio room the main priority is ensuring they are supervised and safe with the educator engaging. Not filling up water bottles ect. Really sad to see people saying this type of educator is the “lazy” one

You don’t start with 12 right away. Water bottles get done before kids arrive or when you only have 1-2. Diapers get check when kids get dropped off, half the kids are fine and don’t need a change until a second comes in anyway. It is lazy to not have a system in place to have health and safety requirements done while supervising alone.
