@jeffrey_norgren: LOOKING DIFFERENT MAKES PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE. But that’s exactly why I share our story. Because no child should be hidden for being who they are. If that makes you uncomfortable, maybe that says more about you than it does about us. #specialneedsparenting #inclusion #familylove #disabilityawareness #bekind
No I think they mean they are uncomfortable with any adult who builds their social media presence around highlighting their child. For safeguarding reasons rather than ableist ones.

Any parent that gratuitously posts about their child online needs to more honestly confront within themselves why they are doing it.

Not really, based on your daughter’s visible characteristics, (she does not fix her gaze or interact with her surroundings, the absence of the ability to swallow, the constant flexed posture) indicates damage to the bulbar nuclei or a cortico-bulbar disconnection. Therefore, it is not a cognitive disability or a neurodevelopmental condition, she is not an special needs child, but rather she has an acquired brain injury with complete loss of consciousness. Probably this corresponds to a hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, a lack of oxygen and blood flow to the brain occurring around delivery.

Yeah that’s not the majority of people’s concern when they say it’s exploitative. 😬 And I think you know that.

All due respect, you can spin these comments whichever way you please but in the end, your underage daughter(s) are not able to consent to their private medical information being on the internet. Education, advocacy, and inclusion can be done without displaying the vulnerable moments of a child’s life. Go ahead, call me an ableist that doesn’t like the way your daughter looks, I sleep just fine at night knowing I wouldn’t exploit the most vulnerable.

i’m never a huge fan of people sharing their kids online BUT i think the importance of education and teaching empathy outweighs it in this situation

Why is everyone talking about the consent of his child to be posted online but Facebook parents post their kids all the time but it’s wrong to do it on TikTok?

Bro at some point you had the chance to terminate knowing how things would be but you chose this life the caretaker life that’s great but don’t expect people to understand. One would argue that wasting one’s life to take care of a nother is a negative cycle and a waste of time practically at lease. We are guided by emotion there’s no need for explanation

no, she is adorable, it's just exploitation. I disagree with it, but it's not my kid. If you are ok with it, go for it I guess. One day the laws will catch up.

I love this. I am 35 and grew up with a brother with special needs. There was no representation for him, back then. I WISH I saw people like him. It would have made me feel so much better. I love what you are doing, the strength of your family is visible in your videos. So is the love. Please keep going.
