Until framing and carpentry becomes a protected trade like electrical and plumbing this crap will continue. Not to say a journeyman ticket will make you a great carpenter but it’s a start and would weed out the goofs who buy a saw and rent a zoom boom and think they are qualified framers.

In this case probably not necessary to even need the 2/4 anyway code is 38mm I believe. Not that it’s doing anything anyway

2/4 or 2/12. Doesn’t matter. They used 3 drywall screws.

Hey Marty! Just an FYI, the current rate for production framing in Calgary is 9.00 sq.foot when it was 13-14 this time last year. Jayman is leading the charge in dropping rates, the only people working are people who are selling LMIA'S or committing WCB fraud. Hope that helps explain the shoddy quality you are seeing. Cheers
