@cookingwithcharles: McDonald’s Style French fries 1. Peel and slice russet potatoes 2. Boil water to 170F and add 2 tablespoons of vinegar and a tablespoon of salt. 3. Add the potatoes and boil for 10 minutes. Then let dry and cool down on paper towel for 30 minutes. 4. Heat up canola oil to 325F and fry. Want to keep the potatoes white and remove once they float about 2 minutes. Then let dry and cool down on paper towel for 30 minutes. 5. Heat oil to 375F and fry a second time. You want to cook until crispy and a little brown which will take about 4 minutes. Then salt while hot in a bowl and serve! #mcdonaldsfries #hotfries #fries #fyp #cookingathome
I do not boil,or wash my cut fries in water, and to be honest I have people say they are the best they've ever had. Trick is to not steer them much in the oil while they're cooking, maybe 3 times.
