Ugh I understand the loyalty to the friendship, but as someone who has been cheated on, the worst part of it was how many people gave a blind eye. I felt humiliated being the “last to know”. 🥲 I would advocate for my friend to say something and drop them if they wouldn’t own it. It says something bad about their character! And lord only knows what they’re lying about in the friendship

If it was a one time “mistake” that they seem remorseful for, I would mind my business. If they’re having a full on affair, I would tell them to do the right thing and either leave or tell them the truth, and if they don’t I would reconsider that friendship 100%

I gave her 48 hours to tell him before I did because she claimed to be with me while she was kissing the affair partner in their home. She claimed her fiancé was cheating himself and she had a plan to move out to end it. I told her I didn’t like her exit plan but we’d deal with it later after she moved out. If she’ll betray her fiancé, she’ll betray her best friend. Turns out he wasn’t cheating and we’ve been friends for years now.

every cheater i’ve been friends with whether it be emotional and/or physical cheater ended up being a terrible friend too. this part of their identity is not a mistake and they are a bad person at the end of the day for it. they won’t accept fault for their actions and a large part of it lies in their lack of acceptance of what they did to be “wrong”
