@beccanomics101: We have prioritized our Roth IRAs HEAVILY since we opened them six years ago! It’s been our priority to try to max them out every year (or as close as we could!) On our way to becoming tax-free millionaires!
Pretty sure Roth IRA contributions are capped at $7,000/year/person. So to go from $0 to $18K in one year doesn’t seem right.

Kind of a misleading title if this includes 401k rollovers. Nonetheless, good job!

The max has been between $6-7k so how is it increasing that much?

The max a person can contribute is 7k. There are two of you so that’s 14k times 6 years. That’s 84k. Where’s the other 30k coming from in contributions?

You shouldn’t be earning interest in a Roth IRA, you should be earning capital gains since you should be investing the money. It’s not a savings account, it’s an investment account

I’m not a fan of Roth 401k’s. I like to max traditional 401k then switch over to megabackdoor Roth contributions. I have a nice amount in both now. The megabackdoor is awesome if your employer offers it and you would be putting money into a taxable investment account.

Math isn’t mathing unless you haven’t told us if you rolled something over. Max limits x two of you in those years isn’t eligible for that much contribution.
