i don't know if I'm Neuro divergent or I'm just way too blunt.. that people think I'm too much and I'm too difficult.

I believe neurodivergent brains are more evolved brains. Society simply has not caught up and set up the infrastructure to healthily support these evolved brains.

The portrayal of neurodivergent brains as “disordered” or “unstable” may be well-intentioned, but it is conceptually problematic because it visually reproduces the old deficit narrative. Neurodivergence does not imply a lack of structure. It signifies a different mode of pattern formation, not its absence. Independent of that, this visual building-block metaphor is deeply reductive. It oversimplifies complex neural organization and collapses dynamic functional networks into a static, childlike model.

“Both complete, just arranged differently” is the frame that actually holds. A neurodivergent brain isn’t a neurotypical brain with pieces missing. It’s a different organizational system, different priority hierarchy, different information processing sequence, different what-goes-where. That doesn’t make it less. It makes it distinct. Same cognitive material, reorganized by different principles. The problem isn’t the architecture. It’s a world designed assuming everyone’s blocks stack the same way, then treating different stacking as deficiency. When you stop comparing neurodivergent organization to neurotypical organization and just see each system for what it actually is, the “deficit” disappears. What’s left is difference.

Thanks for this explanation and specifically emphasizing nothing is wrong with neurodivergent minds. Society paints it as a bad thing.

Um… the stack in the right hurts my soul and I would immediately have to neatly stack them. That’s masking, I suppose.

As someone who is neurodivergent, I wasn’t given any inability to do anything as I thought I did when I was young, that thought was killing my capabilities more than anything. It took a lot to rewire my brain to where I could understand and perceive things the way i wanted

social cues i find is, or is similar to, masking. we’re all exposed to social conditioning; NTs have it as part of social condition from a young age whereas NDs need to work at maintaining the mask and were less susceptible to conditioning

Hmmm, the example appears to indicate that neurotypicality is orderly and firm while neurodivergence is chaotic and unstable. There isn't even a consensus on whether neurotypicality is actually a thing. For all we know, we could all be divergent in some way, even if not diagnosed.

When the brain develops in a way that has life debilitating consequences, you can say (without judgement) that something went wrong, imo. I don't feel bad about my autism and the things I have to deal with. But I do feel bad about people pretending it's all normal
