Jurors heard several excerpts of recorded calls between Peter and Rebecca Grossman during Peter's testimony in the punitive damages phase of the Iskanders' wrongful death trial. Rebecca Grossman is in prison for killing young brothers Mark and Jacob Iskander while speeding and impaired in Westlake Village, California, on Sept. 29, 2020. Her husband was a key witness as jurors consider possible punitive damages after determining she and the driver witnesses said she was racing, Scott Erickson, are liable for $176 million in compensatory damages. Attorney Brian Panish represents Nancy and Karim Iskander. He questioned Peter Grossman on Monday (June 8 ) about his statement that Nancy was "full of sh**" when she said she saw Rebecca at the hospital after the crash. "You and your wife believe Ms. Iskander is full of something, don't you?" Panish asked. "No, sir," Grossman answered. "You and your wife never said that Mrs. Iskander is full of it when she said she saw your wife at the hospital?" Panish asked. "Did I say that, sir?" Grossman said. Panish played a portion of a call in which Rebecca said "the mom" said she saw her at the hospital and "that's just not true." Peter told Rebecca, "She's full of sh**." "Does that refresh your recollection?" Panish asked. "Yes, sir," Grossman said. "You believe ... this case is driven by the Iskanders' hatred and ill will to towards you and your wife, don't you?" Panish asked. "I can't answer that in a yes or no question, sir," Grossman said. "Did you ever say the Iskanders have no forgiveness and brought this into their own false narrative, this case?" Panish asked. "I believe I may have said that," Grossman answered. "And you believe that there was a rush to judgment in this case, don't you, sir?" Panish asked. "I absolutely do, sir," Grossman answered. "You believe your wife shouldn't be responsible, don't you, sir?" Panish asked. "No, sir, that's not true," Grossman answered. You can watch all testimony on my YouTube channel. Attorneys will give closing arguments today (Tuesday, June 9). #law #attorney #court
