An additional perspective: My 21 yr old son got a dui. It broke my heart to have to take him off my insurance but my own finances would’ve never fully recovered because my car & homeowner were bundled. I would’ve lost both and trying to get insurance again due to a dui in the household would’ve put me in a high risk category. I had no choice. I don’t think people understand that your insurance is more priority than the car payment itself.

Uber has done so much for preventing DUIs. Avoiding alcohol altogether would save you even more money.

Why should bars not have parking lots? A bar local to me had a car run into the bar and close it down bc someone parked outside, got behind the wheel and ran into the bar. Mind you, this was probably STILL not worst case scenerio

My SIL went out drinking, got caught driving and has the audacity to claim to this day how “inconvenient” her DUI is on her record. I have zero sympathy, it is a choice to do that and she’s a POS.

I think at the very least every bar should have breathalyzer available before leaving. its 2025 and they are readily available and cheap now there is no excuse not to

I like the idea of no parking lots at bars. Too many innocent, law abiding drivers losing their lives because someone else wants to be stupid
