Why is this needed when it can be done normally?

I get that there is a human controlling it. But how is this easier than just a surgeon doing it by hand there? Instead of controlling a whole robot which looks complicated.

I just had a colostomy reversal surgery done with the assistance of the DaVinci robot. The robot is completely manage by the surgeon. Is been 5 days, I am feeling great, just had 6 tiny holes on my stomach. This technology is amazing. On day 5 I am walking around, no pain, low risk for infection. Is it’s important for all people to know every single movement of the robot is driven by a trained surgeon.

is this real life :
for those that don't understand saying "wouldnt it be easier for a person to do it normally" the obvious answer is NO. each arm of that robot represents the arm of a surgeon. robots are much more precise in micro movements. Definitely gonna be used in complex, emergency or prolonged surgeries

Is the robot safer than a surgeon?

I had a partial hysterectomy done with Da Vinci and my recovery was soooo much better than my gallbladder. It’s crazy how much of a difference it makes in post op.

I’ve had two robot assisted laparoscopic surgeries for endometriosis. I had no idea this is what it looked like in action, pretty cool.

I just had this done 3 days ago! This is wild! But I wouldnt have done it any other way! The pain is VERY manageable with Tylenol and ibuprofen.

so is the surgeon in complete control of the machine? does the robot have an autopilot or something like ai driving it at all? it almost looks like it has a mind of its own.
