I go home every single day as a head coach and have max anxiety because everyone thinks my job is easy. *some* parents make this job a nightmare. The amount of tears I’ve shed in the last 9 months from coaching is insane

What isn’t talked about enough is the constant demands athletes need from you. The pressure to never let them down. But there’s been this huge modern day switch where those athletes will criticize your every move and cancel you the second you don’t provide for them as an individual. What they don’t get is that the team is who you are putting first. And that means you cannot give individuals every single thing they want.

15 years in and it hasn’t changed or gotten easier. They will never understand the weight we feel on our shoulders. To have to disappoint some great young men in order to do what’s best for the team. And no one on the outside really knows.

Coaching isn’t gameday. It’s the 6 other days of the week. It’s the sleepless nights wondering if you’ve done enough. It’s worrying about your athletes lives and who they are gunna be. Gameday is a fraction of the job and it’s hardly worth mentioning
