Yorkshire is THE most endearing accent. I'm from Lancashire and ended up with my West Yorkshire boyfriend of 6 years. Its such a comforting accent!

Let's be frank and I'm not doubting your competency here, but the Judiciary is so steeped in elitism and cronyism, few working class advocates make Judge. I do hope that's changing and you do have an equal path to those from public schools and connected families.

Your accent is quite lovely and your accent doesn’t make any difficulty to get the message across, you quite pronounce words clearly and is quite good to see that your accent doesn’t put you down as a professional, on the contrary, it gives more value to yourself and career. Keep it up girl! 👏🏻

Seen accentism loads in science too. One of the best Chemists I knew had a Lancastrian Bolton accent- hindered him and a Yorkshire accent that I have was an issue for some

I used to cover the crown courts as a journalist and loved hearing my Yorkshire accent from advocates - it just really stripped away a layer of formality…SO glad you kept yours!

not too sure where your from, thinking South Yorkshire somewhere but I'm from West Yorkshire and I got let go from a a sales Job Many Years ago in Harrogate because I was " too northern " and I wouldn't posh up my Accent, all the rest of the staff were local to Harrogate. It's only 20 mins away but the divide is a Casm of classist snobbery wider than the Grand Canyon
