I have an average council house from like the 50s-60s and i wanted the carpet fitted in a really large living room before the baby was horn a few years back, we moved in and found similar looking tiles underneith. we had to wait another two weeks for the council to come out and remove them and let the air settle ,THEN get new carpet and move back in

dont bother spending money to get it tested, just get the floor levelled instead (over the suspected asbestos tiles), you can do this yourself to save some money 🥰

It’s fine our Reno project had asbestos tiles and bitumen. We actually paid to get the tiles removed (£1500😩) and it was another £2k for the bitumen to be removed so we said nah. When the guys turned up for the tiles they did it within an hour and basically said the asbestos is so low it would have been ok for us to remove them. It’s only dangerous if you were to grind them up into dust
