How could this loop hole even exist. It shows that governments DO NOT clearly think through where allowances can be provided, thereby creating ways for welfare system exploitation. Crime should automatically remove access to any benefit.

This is an absolute disgrace that this murderer is now receiving Universal Credit payments whilst locked up. These evil killers are always playing the mental health card. This term 'diminished responsibility' is used all too often. He should not be serving time in a psychiatric hospital. He should have gone to the gallows. When are the politicians going to wake up and start thinking about protecting law abiding citizens, and stop treating criminals as if they are more important?

This is absurd, I used to work in a mental health hospital, and when patients demonstrated good behaviour, they were allowed to go out into the community for home visits or shopping trips.
