Too petty. How does she even expect to the play out. Standing on principle over this statement but she’s just forcing the two of them further apart in the long run. He already apologised if it wasn’t to her satisfaction she should have just said that so he can apologise again and move on but holding onto things for weeks is petty.

Sure, I am fine with one doing all the laundry (I do in our household), but you should split up the chores so not one does all. Why are there so many men out there doing none? Didn't they learn these things when living alone or what?

It was passive aggressive not to communicate that you didn’t plan to do his laundry. Be more assertive and if you do not want to do his chores, set that boundary now and stick to it. Ignore his mum’s comments, she shouldn’t be involving herself in your relationship. He is a mummy’s boy and always will be, so if you can’t deal with a lifetime of that conflict then leave.
