I have 150 hours of pto. All requests denied for 10 months. Doctor request. Birthday. Anniversary. Basic vacation. All denied. Ridiculous.

Corporate big sis tip: You do not need to disclose the specifics of your request. You are entitled to the PTO if the contract says so and what you do with the time off is not of company concern anymore.

If you have PTO you can request it. Doesn’t matter the reason and it’s also not your job to find coverage. That’s your manager or bosses job!

Never never never never tell them the reason why you’re taking PTO. Keep it vague. A lot of the time HR says things to make it sound like they’re on your side but they are hired there by the company therefore the companies interest is what they value.
