People individualize crime so much. A child committing a heinous crime isn’t as much an indictment of the child’s character as it is an indictment of the conditions of this society.

Even if you are against reformation in adults, Children are legit not done changing at a biological level. Children being reformed and not jailed is the logical conclusion especially for lesser crimes.

All Jails and Prisons should be (and actually are supposed to be) Rehabilitation not Punishment and Slavery.. I dont know why this has become such a controversial discussion.. It's just common sense but the United Corporations of America got so many of yall brainwashed.

the way people were foaming at the mouth to send a h.s. student to jail for stealing his teacher's funko pop was so alarming. They even encouraged having police called on the whole class because the student didn't come forward right away 💔

Holes did such a good job of representing the mindset behind the juvenile incarceration system. While camp green lake isn’t technically a real prison, there’s still the idea of turning “bad boys into good boys” and molding them into loyal drones while also exploiting them for a more sinister agenda

I'm Canadian and work with kids who commit crimes. The idea of ANY of them going to jail is so tragic to me, like its a reality here in Canada too but thankfully where I live most of the kids I work with get diversion (they have to volunteer hours and apologize and right the wrong of what they did)
