@hasankhalid__: What if we could actually grow neurons in a lab, design them, guide their development, and use them to understand or even repair the nervous system? The first part of this video dives into how lab-grown neurons are created. It all begins with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), cells that can be reprogrammed to become almost anything in the body. When treated with neural stem cell (NSC) factors, they transform into neural stem cells, acting as blank neural templates. From there, it’s all about signaling: → Add neuron-specific factors, and they develop into intricate networks of neurons capable of transmitting electrical signals. → Add glial factors, and they become glial cells, the brain’s support team that nourishes, insulates, and protects neurons. This process mimics natural brain environments, letting scientists study neurodegenerative diseases or test new therapies without ever touching a human brain. Then, the second part of the video shows where these systems lead, lab-grown neural circuits and organoids. From brain organoids that mimic human brain tissue to retinal organoids that replicate the eye’s layered structure, these lab-grown systems are paving the way for restoring damaged neural circuits and regenerating tissue.
