Wait for the container to swing left before it lose all it momentum swing left so you can at least kill most of the momentum

The crane doesn’t swing, if you could trolley out over the water, lower it down into the water to slow it down

2 ways start rasing or just before it ends each swing move the crane in the direction it's heading & repeat. I use these 2 techniques at work when I'm using the long chains

Go woth the direction of swing. Just before the peak trolley in the direction of swing a few meters. That amplitude, you will have to do it a few times to slow then stop it dead.

I would tap the stick in the direction of the swing consecutively to the left and right while hoisting up very slow and trolly landslide very slow as well but always staying above ship for safety and alerting hatchboss to keep workers back until safe,..😎
