Taking those extra couple minutes to copy your card info down or hoping you didn’t realize and left without it. Super common scam technique. Also why I prefer dine in restaurants to have payment systems at the table. Never a fan of my card leaving my possession

it sounds like they were cloning the card. What fast food restaurant is it? I’ve never heard of giving back the card when you get the food. It’s always with the receipt every place I’ve ever gone to. It just doesn’t make sense and they’re holding onto your card too long and they can get lost. I believe they were cloning the card. I think you should report it to the to the bank or American Express or whoever is the card through.

I run the card in view with the reader on the window ledge. I wait for it to go through, sometimes holding the card in the window, then if they want the receipt, I hand it to them with the card.

Never heard of that. Every fast food restaurant I've been to gives my card back after they run it through. Sounds sketchy. 😊

I had a server at Logan’s Roadhouse take our card when we paid & walked straight out the door. I went off & started yelling & all the workers were like “she had to get something out of her car.” & I was like “yeah, no shit— a pen & paper to write down my card info!!”

fast food cannot support basic needs. the wendy’s here intentionally goes super slow. they’re working, but they can’t afford food and shelter, they’re pretty bitter about the situation
