my oldest just turned 13, one of the things we allowed him to start doing is posting short videos on youtube (under heavy supervision). He is super into cars so he may post about cars or his newest Lego build BUT his actual name is no where on the account and he isn't allowed to post anything that shows his face, his younger siblings or our faces, or any identifying information of where we live, and especially no come tour my house type videos. We are trying to allow him to explore some passions in safe way. I have also lived through a home invasion (while home alone with the same kid as a toddler) so he fully understands that for me to feel safe in my home I need him to not post things that allows others to find where we live. It is a give and take, I allow him to explore posting things he enjoys and he is very cautious about what he posts to allow me to feel safe. The most you ever see of my kids (unless you are a family member on my personal page) is a profile picture that is super old and isn't taken anywhere near our home.

I feel the exact same way! And I’ve done the same thing and occasionally showed my kids in content (trying not to show their faces straight on), but make a point not to share anything about them at all, even their names. Just doesn’t sit well with me!

with my kids having an age gap it is also super important to me that my older kid isnt ever posting his younger siblings face (unless on his private page that only family sees). Once my youngest is an adult it will be up to them on if or when their faces are allowed to be shown online.

I am expecting our first baby - 34 weeks. We have not shared ANYTHING and won’t. I cannot imagine having so much stuff available on the internet about me that I didn’t volunteer. We have told everyone to not share anything about my pregnancy or the existence of our child, even after the birth. We don’t share stuff about each other either. Like this comment, there’s no way of tracking it back to us 😅😅

I used to share my kids hence “beingtheblooms” but stopped now my oldest is in high school and is on social media so I started sharing more with their permission
