@jordan.kiser: In Jamaica 10/26/25, RAW footage: We moved our original departures up hoping to miss the storm, they got cancelled due to weather, shortly after that the airports got entirely shut down. We’re here now, bracing for what’s to come and making the best of what we can. We are scared but we are as prepared as we think we can be. Weather is definitely manageable at this moment and we are expecting a rough few days of weather into weeks for the island. Prayers, good vibes and thoughts for not just us but all of our Jamaican brothers and sisters here. While we may leave in a week, they are left with the devastation. Our hearts go out to them already and we are prepared to help in any way we can 💚🖤💛 #jamaica #hurricanemelissa #jamaicatiktok #hurricaneupdate
Start calling your insurance company, you will be stranded for weeks

From a Floridian who survived Ian, PLEASE go to high ground if it’s not too late. Hotels at our local beaches here were just washed away. Stay safe.

If you’re a U.S. citizen currently in Jamaica, make sure you register with the U.S. Embassy as soon as possible before you lose cell or internet service.
Doing so will help U.S. rescue teams locate you after the storm, if assistance becomes necessary.
Visit www.travel.state.gov to register

At least you are at a Sandals resort, they are built for this, we rode at Irma cat 5 on Turks and Caicos at sandals and we were all okay, it sucked and was scary but you will be okay. Stay safe and pray for the locals too!

Flooding is the biggest risk. You need life jackets, air mattresses some type of flotation device. Ziploc bags for phones. An axe to access the attics or roof. Stay safe 💜

Praying for you and everyone in Jamaica. I’m very much a “if I don’t laugh I’ll cry” kind of person so I get it.

Respectively, Hurricane season starts in October and November every year, anyone in their right mind would not be booking a trip to Northern Caribbean during that time.

Keep shoes on, passport on you, write name on your arm. Get to higher ground. Take shelter in bathroom and then hall if bath becomes unsafe. Storm surge will be your biggest issue. Leave a message on VM where you are located including location in the building. Let the US embassy know your location as well. Fill tub up with water and have snacks and water. This will be catastrophic and you probably won’t have a lot of infrastructure left. Be prepared to be there for a while. It is doubtful you will have flights out for a while.

GET BOTH OF YOU LIFE JACKETS AND WEAR THEM THE WHOLE TIME! THE WATER WILL BE UNBELIEVABLE! WEAR SOME COMFORTABLE LACE UP SHOES. TENNIS SHOES. PUT ON JEANS AND A T-SHIRT MAYBE A HOODIE. WRIGHT YOUR NAMES AND INFORMATION ON YOUR BODY WITH A PERMANENT MARKER. I hate to say that part but this storm will last for probably a full 24 hours. It's a cat 5 now. Please do what I said you never know sweet girls. I'm praying for you both and I know y'all's mamas are losing their minds right now. Prayers for the family also. Hang on to each other babygirls, this is going to be a bad one 😞😞😞 HET SOME LIFE JACKETS RIGHT NOW. Sending you love and light to brighten your path throughout this storm ❤️🙏🏼😞
