At least you are at a Sandals resort, they are built for this, we rode at Irma cat 5 on Turks and Caicos at sandals and we were all okay, it sucked and was scary but you will be okay. Stay safe and pray for the locals too!

Keep shoes on, passport on you, write name on your arm. Get to higher ground. Take shelter in bathroom and then hall if bath becomes unsafe. Storm surge will be your biggest issue. Leave a message on VM where you are located including location in the building. Let the US embassy know your location as well. Fill tub up with water and have snacks and water. This will be catastrophic and you probably won’t have a lot of infrastructure left. Be prepared to be there for a while. It is doubtful you will have flights out for a while.

GET BOTH OF YOU LIFE JACKETS AND WEAR THEM THE WHOLE TIME! THE WATER WILL BE UNBELIEVABLE! WEAR SOME COMFORTABLE LACE UP SHOES. TENNIS SHOES. PUT ON JEANS AND A T-SHIRT MAYBE A HOODIE. WRIGHT YOUR NAMES AND INFORMATION ON YOUR BODY WITH A PERMANENT MARKER. I hate to say that part but this storm will last for probably a full 24 hours. It's a cat 5 now. Please do what I said you never know sweet girls. I'm praying for you both and I know y'all's mamas are losing their minds right now. Prayers for the family also. I'm from Louisiana and went through a strong 4, 3 years ago. Prepare for a 6-8 hour TORNADO! No kidding, prepare for 15-20 feet storm surge minimum, prepare for all windows to be blown out!!
