Fighters are given 5 minutes to recover from fouls. He didn't even wanna wait the full 5 and had the fight called off.. There was also 20 seconds left in the round. He could've had additional time to recover. Tom didn't want to fight, he seen a way out and took it

Eye injuries are scary. Knees can have surgery and be fixed. Although sometimes not 100% as it was. But you lose and eye and it’s most likely you’re gonna not have an eye anymore. I’ve had similar experiences with eye injuries to the point where I was scared I was gonna lose it. Gotta feel for the guy. On top of that this was his first belt defense and the main event was ruined by a fighter not able to keep his hands closed
