If you do end up using a color remover only put it on you uneven parts that had the previous dye on it not your new growth as it will definitely lighten it in a similar way bleach would.. after that you will probably need to use a color of some sort to put all over that would make it all one color again or you could honestly just get a color close to your roots or a level or two darker just and just all over color it and hope it cover it’s enough to be even looking
