I have also really enjoyed BK YA books but when I saw this one I kinda rolled my eyes. It just sounded bad. And I’m so tired of good YA fantasy authors writing adult “fantasy” just so they can have explicit scenes. 🙄 it feels really forced. We need more good YA books that are epic fantasy and not all romance centered. 🙏

i feel like she’s kind of a weak fantasy writer in general, i’ve always found her worldbuilding and pacing poorly done. cursebreakers #3 still makes me angry to think about 💀 i’m invested enough that i’ll read the other books in this trilogy when they come out anyway though

I just think her writing style works better for YA books 😅 I agree about the explicit scenes. They just felt unnecessary in this book despite it being a romantasy? Defy the Night is one of my faves because the tension and yearning is so good!
