My nan does this but she's not a narcissist in any way, she just has OCD

Treating you like you’re incompetent or can’t ever do anything right. Nothing is ever good enough for them. They can’t appreciate the hard work you put in while they do nothing. Changing the goal post.

Is that narcissistic now? To like (or need) things a certain way? Neurodivergent people especially struggle with having things done ‘the right way.’

My mom does this 💀 - if she wants to create extra work for herself, by all means, go right ahead. 😂

Ok I am genuinely curious. So I do re-fold my fiancés clothes sometimes and re-order his wardrobe when it gets messy. But I don’t tell him that he is going something wrong. I just like order and he has asked me one why i re-fold and I said that I think I am on the spectrum. Because it does matter to me how they are fold and if they are ordered, but I don’t expect that of him. We have divided our house tasks so I take care of this. Am I narcissistic for this. Is it the putting them down part that is narcissistic?

This is a close one with weaponized incompetence where the partner intentionally does something really sloppy to get out of the task and you will have to redo it properly

Tbh my husband “folds” our daughters clothes and then piles and shoves them into her drawers bc “they won’t fit” except they do fit if he would just fold them properly 🤷🏽♀️I get that people do things differently and sometimes that’s ok, but when there is a clearly correct way to do things and you haven’t bothered to learn how, it results in others having to come in and correct what you’ve done.

I’m like this when my clothes are folded wrong, but only after I’ve repeated 3 times to not bother folding them for me, just dump them on my side of the bed and I’ll do it.

I refold sometimes after my husband folds because he leaves the kids clothes inside out and it's easier to put them on the children when they are the right way around. Am I a narcissist? if I saw a video about weaponised incompetence it would look like that too 🤦🏼♀

I don’t think this is always narcissistic. Sometimes it’s particular. My partner is particular about laundry and the dishwasher, so he handles those things. I do other things.

Had this convo almost to the word, hard to fit in perfection on folding when you are doing everything else in the house.

apparently in our house, we have a magical dryer, where only, ONLY, his clothes shrink in the dryer. Not mine, not our 2 children's, just his. It's a very clever dryer and knows to only shrink his.
