Only son/Firstborn in the Sacrifice Story (Gen 22) The phrase yāḥîd (“only/only-begotten”) best fits Ishmael, Abraham’s firstborn Isaac was never Abraham’s “only” son at any time. Early traditions amplify this Jubilees (found among the Dead Sea Scrolls) explicitly phrases it as “thy first-born son”, which aligns with Ishmael. This shows how identifying Isaac as the victim creates contradictions (God had already promised Isaac’s future descendants, making the “test” incoherent), whereas reading Ishmael as the intended victim resolves them. Also Dead Sea Scrolls evidence of tendentious editing DSS fragment 4Q225 omits Ishmael’s birth between Gen 15 and Isaac’s birth so that, when God says “sacrifice your only son,” Isaac literally appears as the only son suggesting a polemical reshaping of the narrative. Hagar & Ishmael cast out how old was Ishmael? (Gen 21) The Septuagint says Abraham “put the child on her shoulder,” and Hagar later lifts the boy pointing to a small child, not a 16- or 17-year-old, which the MT chronology would imply. This fits a different chronological arrangement preserved in some ancient traditions and noted by classical Jewish commentators who admit non-sequential ordering in Torah narratives.

The Scofield Reference Bible was created by Cyrus I. Scofield, an American evangelical Christian pastor and theologian, first published in 1909. He was the one who wrote the notes and organised the reference system. Also to note, Scofield was assisted and supported in part by Arno C. Gaebelein, who was of Jewish background but converted to Christianity. Some later editions also involved editorial contributions from other scholars. That should tell you a lot about the link, especially when you see what these Christian Zionists (Judeo-Christian values) get up to. It’s all part of the plan for a Greater Israel, and you do that by completely taking Ishmael out of the equation, which in turn refers to Arabs and Muslims.

It’s true the Jews kept killing prophets and rejecting Gods signs so their covenant through the line of Isaac was done after they tried to Kill Jesus ﷺ this is shown through Mathew 23 I believe or 22 with the banquet parable God sent the romans to destroy their city, 70AD interestingly enough the invitation of the gentiles comes AFTER the destruction of the city which completely invalidates Paul’s gentile mission which came before the destruction, Genesis 17 says the Ishmael is actually under the circumcision covenant whilst isaac had the covenant for the line of prophets, but God answered Abraham’s prayer that Ishmael live before him (his lineage to worship and obey God) and he would bless Ishmael with a “great nation”, Moses actually tells us what a great nation is which is a nation that worships God and has him near. John also says that the kingdom of God would be taken away from the Jews if they kept rejecting Gods signs and prophets and it would be given to other children of Abraham as well which makes sense the whole Bible leads to the kingdom of God which is Islam
