I went to Alton Towers once and it was a 'traveller day' and I was worried because my partner is blind but everyone was lovely, respectful, and helpful - it massively changed my opinion of the traveller community, I was completely wrong

We used to do traveler weddings mostly essex ones. We were one of the only photographers that did them as long as you understand 100’s uninvited turn up & that you got paid upfront you saw beautiful dresses and wedding cakes that would blow your mind & free boxing matches lol

whilst not a "traveler day" I did just got to a scare event where a group of traveler girls showed up. The only thing that concerned me is everyone in full white down to the shoes, in a muddy forest, in the rain. I wanna know what stain removers they use.

I don’t want to go to a theme park on a busy day so it’s a good tip! Also they’re usually kids and teens which is even more off putting as an adult but that’s just like how I’d want to avoid school trips and half terms

as an ex scare actor at tulleys shocktoberfest, we deal with the same, it is unfortunate to those who are part of the traveller community and do just want to go and have genuine, honest fun, but what your community needs to realise is there’s a lot apart of it that let you guys down on the daily. tulleys, as well as thorpe park, have a set security team onsite and strict protocols for actors and staff onsite to follow, it is safe to statistically say on “traveller night” the rise on security calls is up by 47% then any other regular night. us actors are people too, doing a professional acting job and we deserve respect, not to be yelled at in our faces, touched, shoved, punched, assaulted (yes unfortunately in more ways than one), spat at, drinks thrown over us, verbal abuse, broken sets, ruined costumes, and fights breaking out all across park, plus people sneaking in without a ticket, it is disrespect at its finest and certainly not whay we signed up for nor what we deserve. and unfortunately yes, it’s always on traveller night apart from the unlucky few from the general public we come across during the season. xx

Honestly if I had a business I would advertise specifically to the travellers bc once you get in good with them you’re fed for life! Ask Thelma!! She’s set up generational wealth due to working with the travellers. Proper community them lot! Love em.
