I hate to say this but the Kingston airport is essentially on a jetty. It’s going to be wiped away by flooding and erosion. Think of Helene in NC. That’s that this is going to be like. You’re going to be there for a long time. Please be mentally prepared.

Katrina survivor here.. daytime storms are better because you can see. This is a slow moving storm so more damage will occur. Just stay put until it passes. Sending you all prayers!

Bathe while you can. Get everything Into plastic bags. Let the US embassy know where you are. Get things off the ground into something heavy like a large dresser. Horde all the food and drinkable water that you can. The hurricane will be over you for an entire day. It’s slow moving so prepare . Keep your shoes on

As someone that has gone through major hurricanes, I’ll say daytime is way better. Night time can be more nerve racking since you can’t see what is going on. That’s my personal experience an opinion l! Prayers for you all ❤️🙏

It's a Cat 5 with gusts to 175mph. Being higher up you may see gusts closer to 200mph. Get to a safer spot ASAP and stay away from all windows!
