As a SANE nurse, I appreciate ER nurses who have these "spidey senses".

Just curious, as mandated reports, who do you report it to? Your direct manager or the police? Thank you for doing all

Sad. As a forensic nurse in (unnamed state) recently had an adolescent girl who had no idea what city or state she was in. Luckily everyone was involved and she hopefully made it back to her home state safely 🖤

And then there’s some that are 100% wrong. I feel like if you’re going to assume you better be right

I work in the ER and the first time I cried at work was when a 16 month old came in for SA. Its SO HARD to see these beautiful children come in from unsafe situations.

We ended up putting signs in our patient bathrooms, and if we suspected anything, we would escort the patient only into the patient only bathrooms where there were signs saying if you’re a victim of being trafficked or sexual assault, please call this number type of thing and obviously they couldn’t get into the bathrooms. They had to have a key to get in. Does it stop it No but hopefully it helped a little.

I’ve always said, as a parent I couldn’t be angry that someone cared enough to try & protect my child, even if it means my family is investigated.

I get mad at children who show up in LDRP and their parent refuses to name the father of the baby, and we can't force them to. But we all know it wasn't "a classmate"

I was… but I was able to break away from my DV partner after I was discharged. I hate to say I was one of the lucky ones but I was.

I have epilepsy and my husband took me to the ER after I was in my postictal state for more than 2 hours. When we were in there the nurses in there made the statement that this may be a domestic situation. I couldnt even remember my own name let alone anyone else I clearly couldn't triage myself. They realized it wasn't that way when someone we personally knew was working came in and let them know I have seizures often and I have a very loving husband.

My daughter became known by name at our local ER. One nurse even bought her a social stuffy a few years ago. She broke her arm, her nose, many huge head bumps, she had pneumonia 4 times before she was 5 - you get the picture. This kid got so good at knowing the intake process from triage tha when one nurse didn’t use the oxometer on her finger to check her sats she told her off lol a couple of times I did wonder if I’d get contacted by CPS (or our local version of it) but I never did. I’d have been more than open to discussing things with them though.
