I am 100 percent all for this. And having them built in Canada for us would be awsome, but with our wages and costs for manufacturing in Canada I fear the ev's won't be as inexpensive as people think. Don't get me wrong, when the time comes that I can afford one and when they build the infrastructure (not just in big cities but all over) I'm jumping on the bandwagon but where I live at this time they don't make sense.

I think we should import EV’s, but switch our car manufacturing plants into military manufacturing plants. So start making our own Saab planes, as well as military vehicles and drones. Perfect way to retrofit car manufacturing plants and bring jobs back to Canada.

On top of it, Chinese EVs are anazing with all the tech they have. BYD is an example. They look like 200 thousand dollar cars for a small fraction of the price (at last they’re cheap over there, not sure if they’d be as affordable here)

I was in Australia earlier this year and BYD was everywhere. Apparently they are great cars for the price, and considering how many were on the road I’m assuming they are. I hope this happens

If I could get parts and service, I'd consider a BYD Shark Hybrid pickup. Ranges of 100KM EV, 840KM combined sounds great to me.
