Try using just bleach but only a little at a time because as an Asian with black hair it works for me just be careful to not put a lot of bleach because if you put too much it will turn your hair orange but this is only if your looking for a lighter brown

you can’t start at brown/black hair and expect to see a lighter color. it’s just not possible. imagine you draw a line with a black marker and then try to go over the black line with a lighter color. you won’t see it.
