Boomer narc moms are the absolute worst abusers of their daughters. Their misogyny is a catch 22 along with the expectation they parent perfectly (which will cause them to groom their daughters to attain the male gaze and validation, but then immediately trigger their shame and jealousy the minute the daughter starts to gain the male gaze, and male validation). My mother's abuse was literally supercharged when I became a teenager, and she saw me as a grown woman competing with her in her house.

Same! My mom would say to my sister and I all the time “I never wanted daughters”. She treated my brother like a king and savior of the family. And then would act like she was bffs with my sis and I for the public, while also refusing to raise us and be our mother. My sister raised me and taught me all the things a mother should.

My mom was anorexic through most of my childhood. That was all that generation of women had to achieve, being as thin & petite as possible. Here I come, a 5'8" in 5th grade, meduim/large size build girl with size 11 feet 😂 I tortured her unknowingly with my tomboyish antics. I was a mirror to everything she disliked about herself. I love my body now, but there were some very dark times

Omg I’ve struggled with a lot of the same stuff too! My boomer mom also had me at 38 & I have an older brother 🙃 I was largely ignored except for when I was being criticized.

Same experience except my birth giver was hyper feminine, 98lb & 23yrs old. Being a tomboy was a no no and I did to hide my giant boobs. We were also lace curtain Irish so as long as everything appeared ok from the outside and we didn’t talk about it; whatever it was didn’t exist.

My boomer mother had me at 23 but it still didn’t save me from being completely messed up…she fat shamed me, blamed me for my illnesses, never told me about periods or bought tampons ….that generation of women had daughters just to hate and abuse them…

wow same my mom was 39 when she had me, turned 40 when I was 3 months old. I'm an only child. I learned before puberty that if I tell my mom anything private it wouldn't stay private she would tell all her friends and they'd all make fun of me. she was my first bully. she would make fun of me for being scared in a normal child way, like being scared of the movie the Grudge when I was like 8.
