@aelencooks: My mom was Honduran and my stepdad was Salvadoran, so I grew up with the best mix of both worlds when it came to food. 🥹💛 Even though the crema and cheese aren’t traditionally Honduran, my family always blended both cultures — so of course I did the same today. Huge thank you to @withmuchogusto for sending me these again! Forever grateful to be able to recreate something that feels so close to home. 🤍 Baleadas 2 cups flour 1 cup warm water 1–2 tbsp manteca 1 tsp salt ¼ tsp baking powder How to make them: 1️⃣ Mix your dry ingredients in a bowl. Add the manteca and mix well — once the flour starts to clump, it’s ready for water (if not, add a bit more manteca). 2️⃣ Pour in the warm water and knead for 7–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If it’s too sticky, sprinkle in a little flour. Divide into 6 balls, cover, and let rest 15–20 mins. 3️⃣ Roll them out — I like mine thinner, but you do you. Add to a hot comal. 4️⃣ Let it bubble (10–15 sec), flip, and cook another 20–30 sec. Keep flipping until it puffs up. 5️⃣ Take it off the comal, add your favorite toppings, and enjoy 🫶🏼 #baleadas #EasyRecipe #easybreakfast #honduras #elsalvador
