Aren't there laws to protect people who attempt to save someone and aren't successful. Wouldn't the child have died even the cop did nothing?

I remember in my CNA class they suggested not to help in the public because of this exact scenerio.. people can sue you..if they survive, great. You’re deemed a hero. If not? They’re going to point fingers at someone and 9/10 that finger is pointed at the one who was trying to help.

It’s almost as if the police had more funding for training classes they would be more effective when the time comes.

Police aren’t medical. They get one training in their career. But often there’s more police than EMTs or Paramedics. It’s a lose lose. If he stood there, they would have blamed him.

Sad i guess the officer should just sit in his car and just watched the little boy pass? They would have attacked and open a lawsuit against him for just sitting in his vehicle waiting on the ambulance! Can’t win either way

That’s what actually killed their son not that their son ate candy, was choking and his family was not watching that little boy eat some candy he shouldn’t of been eating and didn’t know how to do CPR to save him, but yet they blamed the officer? Really fucking really

in this generation if you try to help someone you will get sued. a man got sued for saving a baby falling from a building.

Pretty sure Good Samaritan laws will cover. “To be protected, you must act in good faith, not for compensation, and provide care at the scene of an emergency. “

You can still get sued, even if you’re certified. You can even get a ticket for being at the scene trying to help.

This happened to my son at daycare…he was choking and they did not perform the proper rescue (heimlich maneuver) and decided to finger sweep instead and pushed it deeper. Those devices should NEVER be used before the Heimlich

when put in that position its one hardest things im car certified and do Heimlich training every year but when put in that position everything learned you forget out of fear seeing in real life and doing on doll are completely different, my husband saved our daughter from choking vi panicked and police operator trying calm me down I was petrified. dont knownif was his 1st time. it's not like what see on tv shows whem happens in real life you panick
