crazy story told to me by a flight crew. they had a head injury pt in the middle of BFE and they started crashing due to pressure, they called the ER and were then told to land at this one spot and wait. a truck then pulled up and a dusty cowboy got out, checked the pt and then proceeded to do a bur hole in the pts skull relieving the pressure. Turned out to be a brain surgeon on his ranch

To be honest, I think I’d trust a rancher/farmer surgeon more than traditional health provider. Probably get more out of the box critical thinking to solve my concerns/problems and short it to me straight.

I used to work with a neurosurgeon whose first career was farming. He went back to school in his late 20’s. (He still farmed with his brothers). Dude was chill as hell.

My husband's dad had a really extensive heart surgery once. When he came out to talk to the family, he had his cowboy boots on. Turns out, he owned a ranch just outside of the city limits.

My artificial hip came out of place just a month after getting it. The doctor was wearing same plaid flannel shirt and jeans. He told my husband as he climbed up on the table to wrestle it back into place “This is going to look unorthodox” 😂

So my mom had a brain aneurysm and we were waiting for the neurosurgeon to come and in walks a dude with a mullet type cut and a Sam Elliott type mustache with his flannel shirt on…it was awesome!
